Even Beyoncé was nervous before a royal family meeting

The entire cast of the live-action remake of The Lion King was nervous before meeting British Prince Harry and his wife Meghan. Even pop queen Beyoncé. Billy Eichner, who is the voice actor of meerkat Timon, told Jimmy Kimmel.

“A few days before the cast was to meet Harry and Meghan, the British royal family sent a whole protocol of how to greet them,” says Billy. “You had to say ‘your royal highness’ and you were not allowed to speak before the hands were shaken,” Billy says surprised. “We found the rules rather intense, everyone was a little nervous, even Beyoncé.”

The same Beyoncé, who narrates the voice of Nala in the film, ultimately did not overload the protocol. Together with her husband Jay-Z, she arrived at the premiere later than the royals. That is actually not allowed, according to the rules, members of the royal family must always come in last so that attention remains focused on them.

The British Royal Family is some sort of Soap Opera.
