Life Feast: there will be a new RoboCop film Posted on November 21, 2019 2 min read Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Share on Google+ The new sequel in the series of Robocop films seems to be coming anyway. After director Neill Blomkamp stepped out of the project earlier this year, Abe Forsythe, the creator of zombie comedy Little Monsters, will now make the film. He is working on the scenario, American media report Thursday. The new Robocop ignores the two lesser sequels that were made in the early 1990s on the original by Dutch director Paul Verhoeven. The project is currently called Robocop Returns. The iconic film from 1987 tells about a future in which a project is underway to replace agents with machines. When agent Alex Murphy is seriously injured, he is chosen as a test object for the Robocop project. The American debut by Paul Verhoeven is now considered a classic. A remake of Robocop was made in 2014, with House of Cards star Joel Kinnaman in the lead, but this film was moderately received. It is not clear when Robocop Returns can be seen in cinemas. It was previously reported that Blomkamp wanted to bring back the original star of the first film, Peter Weller. But it is not clear whether the new director intends to do that.
