Idris Elba helps fainted fan

Actor Idris Elba offered first aid when a woman fainted in the audience during his new play Tree. The show in Manchester was stopped, the BBC reports, while Idris Elba ensured that the visitor received medical treatment.

The show resumed when the woman indicated that she was fine again, says the management of the Manchester International Festival, where Tree can be seen for two weeks in the Upper Campfield Market Hall. Idris Elba is the producer and director of Tree.

“The woman was sitting next to Idris in the audience, so he gave first aid and waited for professional helpers to come to her,” says the festival director. “I think the woman is doing well again, but it was certainly useful that Idris was there to help.”
