Jennifer Lawrence has a leading role in Netflix comedy

Netflix has tied Jennifer Lawrence (29) to play the lead role in the latest production “Don’t Look Up,” reports The Hollywood Reporter. The film is written and directed by Adam McKay, who also previously made films such as Vice and The Big Short.

Don’t Look Up is about two scientists who discover that the earth will be hit by a meteorite within six months. They set out to warn the media about the upcoming disaster through the media, but in particular they get a lot of skeptical reactions to their warning.

McKay says he is happy to attract Jennifer. “She is what people in the seventeenth century called ‘mieters’,” he says in a statement about the Oscar winner.

The director would like to start filming in April. Netflix would like to stream the film this year.
