Life Jussie Smollett filed a claim against Chicago By weekster Posted on November 20, 2019 2 min read Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Share on Google+ Former Empire actor Jussie Smollett (37) is the victim of a malicious persecution that was humiliating and caused extreme suffering. That is what his lawyers claim in documents filed this week at the federal court of Chicago. According to the actor, officials would have invented that he was the inventor of a racist, homophobic attack in the city, TMZ reports. Jussie Smollett is therefore now taking legal action against the city. Jussie not only points his arrows at Chicago, but also denounces the Osundairo brothers and various officials, including a police inspector. The Osundairo brothers were initially considered suspects in the Jussie Smollett case until the authorities concluded that the actor had staged the attack. Jussie was charged in March for making a false declaration. The charges against the actor, who himself said to be innocent, were withdrawn after a few weeks. But Chicago still demands $ 130,000 (117,000 euros) from the former Empire star for the costs incurred in the investigation. The city is also asking for compensation of $ 260,000 (234,000 euros). Attempts by the actor to have that court case dismissed recently failed in court.
