Actress Patricia Arquette (51) has signed for a leading role in the new drama series Severance, Variety confirms. The news comes a day after the actress has received a Golden Globe for her role in the series The Act.

The series is about the ups and downs in the workplace of a company that attaches great importance to the work-life balance. Employee Mark, played by Adam Scott, has a dark past and tries to get his life back on track. Patricia Arquette plays his boss.

The actress will again work closely with Ben Stiller as director/producer. The couple had earlier success with the production Escape at Dannemora, for which they received another Golden Globe, plus an Emmy nomination.

Severance is broadcast via Apple TV +. The new streaming service was officially launched in November.
