Life Pregnant Katy Perry wants to sing ‘stolen’ song in court By WeeklyNews staff Posted on July 20, 2019 1 min read Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Share on Google+ Pregnant Katy Perry immediately spoke on the first day of the handling of the plagiarism case surrounding her song Dark Horse. The 34-year-old singer stated that she had never heard of rapper Flame, who claims that parts of his 2008 song Joyful Noise were stolen. Katy, dressed in a mint green suit, spoke for more than half an hour in the court in Los Angeles. Among other things, she remembered that writers Dr. Luke and Cirkut showed her the instrumental version of Dark Horse. She had never heard of Joyful Noise or the artists behind it. Katy’s lawyers stated that the Dark Horse beat is “too common” to be protected by copyright. To reinforce their verdicts, they wanted to play the song in court, but due to technical problems that did not work. “I can also sing it live for you”, Katy then offered, which, according to American media, caused the necessary hilarity among those present. Dark Horse is one of the biggest hits in Katy’s oeuvre.
