Presenter comes under fire after ridiculing Prince George

2 min read

The American presenter Lara Spencer (50) is currently receiving a lot of criticism after some remarkable statements about the British prince George (6). In the Good Morning America program, she was simply laughing at the kid because he is taking ballet lessons.

“I have news for you Prince William, we will see how long that takes”

In the program, Lara told the son of Prince William and Kate that he will soon go to the prestigious St. Thomas’s Battersea. At this private school in London, he will receive a comprehensive range of subjects including weekly ballet exercises. This caused real laughter with the presenter. “Oh, he looks so happy because of his ballet lessons,” Lara said.

“In addition to the usual things like math, chemistry and history, George will leave the Play-Doh to follow ballet. I have news for you Prince William, we will see how long that takes, “she continues, while a photo of a broad-smiling Prince George can be seen.

This presentation attracted a lot of criticism worldwide.

“This cute boy is being ridiculed by an adult woman on national television in America for taking ballet classes,” writes Brian L. Friedman on Instagram and Twitter.

Brian himself is a choreographer and has worked with Britney Spears and others.

“She learns that it is okay to laugh at boys who want to dance and that is so sad.”

It is also called that the presenter makes her apologies live on television and her behavior is labeled disgusting.

The unasked question here is why Spencer and Stephanopoulos have not both been fired. A New York Times columnist pleaded for ‘humanity’ as though these people had some kind of God given right to keep their jobs. They had privilege, they blew it, and two other people would be very happy to take their places. End of story. If the New York Times columnist were fired for expressing an absurd opinion, that might be a freedom of speech issue. But Spencer and Stephanopoulos were not expressing an opinion, they were just being boorish. So why are they still on the air? Because their audience is boorish too. Their audience will continue to tune in because their audience has no problem with bad behaviour. And so the network will keep them on.
