Life R. Kelly bribed an official for marriage with Aaliyah (15) Posted on December 9, 2019 2 min read Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Share on Google+ The legal problems of R. Kelly continue to accumulate. According to American media, the musician has been sued again; he is now being prosecuted for fraud with ID proof for his then minor girlfriend, singer Aaliyah. He bribed a government official so that he could get an identity card for Aaliyah. Bribe Aaliyah Haughton is not mentioned by name in the indictment, but the prosecutor mentions 30 August 1994 as the date for the fraud. The next day, then 27-year-old Kelly married the singer, who was 15 years old. The marriage was annulled a few months later at the request of her parents, who only later discovered that their teenage daughter had given her yes. Kelly’s lawyer said earlier this year that his client did not know that Aaliyah was a minor. The singer died in 2001, at the age of 22, in a plane crash. Sexual misconduct The latest accusation is added to the four indictments that have already been filed against Kelly in New York. He must be prevented in May for, among other things, kidnapping, scams and sexual exploitation. A month earlier, the singer is in court in Chicago, where he is also accused of sexual abuse. In September, he has to report to a Chicago court again for a loose case of sexual misconduct against four women, including three minors.
