R. Kelly requests judge to be released again: I have diabetes

R. Kelly continues to see an opportunity to leave prison in the corona crisis. The singer has asked the judge for the umpteenth time to be allowed to serve his sentence at home, this time because he says he has diabetes and therefore belongs to the risk group. TMZ reports that its lawyers filed another motion with the court on Friday.

Kelly, 53, is in prison in Chicago and says he has high blood pressure and high cholesterol in addition to diabetes. According to his lawyers, the institution where the singer is detained is aware of his health, and tests in March revealed that Kelly “probably” has diabetes.

The singer has already made several attempts to be released. Last month, the singer also tried because he was concerned that he is at extra risk of being infected in prison. The judge dismissed all requests so far.

Kelly is in custody pending several lawsuits against him. The singer, who continues to be innocent, has been accused of sexual abuse by several women.
