Thanks to the corona virus, he can leave prison even earlier. The judge approved his release request to prevent infection in prison, US media reports. The 23-year-old American is now under house arrest for his remaining four months. He may only leave his home for medical treatment or to see his lawyer. Tekashi had been released from prison three months earlier. He would be released on August 2 due to good behavior. He will still be supervised for the next five years. The rapper was sentenced to two years’ imprisonment at the end of last year for involvement in a criminal gang. He confessed to drug trafficking, arms possession and assault, among other things. Tekashi would actually face a heavier sentence, but having testified against other gang members, he was able to make a deal with the judiciary.
