South Korean K pop star under fire after corona joke

1 min read

Kim Jae-joong (34), a world-famous member of South Korean K-pop group JYJ, has taken the anger out of his fans. As an April 1 joke, he told his millions of social media followers that he was infected with the corona virus.

Although the post itself has since been removed, the damage has already been done. Kim has now gone through the dust on Instagram. According to him, the “joke” was intended to raise awareness and point out the dangers of corona. In the first post, Kim said, among other things, that he was grim at keeping distance and had ignored all government measures.

But the pop star now returns to his followers with hanging legs. “I just wanted to say that it is no joke to consider others now. Protecting yourself also means protecting others. ” According to him, the message has been interpreted differently than he originally intended.
