Stars cause millions of new voters in Great Britain

Millions of people registered as voters in the UK prior to the December 12 parliamentary elections. Of the new voters, more than 2 million are under the age of 35, according to British government data. Celebrities like Game of Thrones actress Emilia Clarke (33) had called on people to register as voters.

According to the British electoral commission, one in three 18 and 19 year olds is not registered. From 29 October, when Prime Minister Johnson announced new elections, 3.2 million people registered in the electoral register. Of these, 1.2 million are younger than 25, and nearly 1 million are between 25 and 34.

Rapper Stormzy also called on young people to vote. “Don’t sit back and think ‘my one little vote won’t do anything’ – your vote is crucial. Your one little vote can literally turn the balance in what will be the most important elections of our generation,” he tweeted.
