Life The Crown-Olivia Colman receives knighthood Posted on November 3, 2019 1 min read Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Share on Google+ Actress Olivia Colman, who plays the role of Queen Elizabeth in the new season of Netflix series The Crown, received her knighthood at Buckingham Palace on Thursday. ‘The Queen’ just didn’t get her ribbon from the real queen. Her daughter Princess Anne, the ‘Princess Royal’, handed out the awards at the palace. A missed opportunity, but that didn’t spoil the fun for Colman. Photos from the Daily Mail show how the actress laughs and talks to Queen Elizabeth’s daughter after she has pinned her the ribbon. From now on, the Oscar winner may call herself Commander of the Order of the British Empire and may therefore put the title CBE after her name. Colman received the award for her merits for the film world. The third season of The Crown, in which Princess Anne (Erin Doherty) will be shown for the first time, will appear on November 17.
