Life The Lord of the Rings series is already getting its second season Posted on November 19, 2019 2 min read Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Share on Google+ The recordings for the first season of the new Amazon series on The Lord of the Rings are yet to begin, but the developer has already announced a second season. Deadline reports that. The announcement of a second season also means an adjustment of the schedule. After the first two episodes of season one have been filmed, production stops for four to five months to work on the scripts for season two. This is quite common for series that run for several consecutive seasons, because it gives the producers the opportunity to view and assess the shot material, as if it were a pilot episode. In this way the script for season two is ready on time and even something of it can be filmed during the recordings for season one. The series is set in the fictional Middle Earth and gets storylines prior to J.R.R. Tolkiens The Fellowship Of The Ring. The cast has yet to be announced, but it is whispered that Will Poulter (We’re the Millers), Markella Kavenagh (The Cry) and Joseph Mawle (Game of Thrones) will play a role.
