The show has often been compared to Game of Thrones by fans, but critics are also extremely enthusiastic. Netflix ends the year well with yet another hit. The Witcher is not only appreciated by users of the streaming service, but also by critics. IMDb is full of reviews and has given the show an average of 8.9. This makes the fantasy series the highest rated Netflix Original of all time. The Witcher thus beats opponents such as Black Mirror, Stranger Things, Narcos and House of Cards. A considerable achievement. Unfortunately it was only short-lived. Such a ranking of course changes quite quickly and in the meantime it has dropped a bit, namely to an 8.8. In addition to IMDb, there are of course several ranking sites, such as Rotter Tomatoes and Metacritic, where the series is much less praised.
