Life Three blacks were attacked in Thuringia, xenophobic motives suspected Posted on August 2, 2020 1 min read Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Share on Google+ A group of about 12 men attacked three West Africans from Guinea last night in the German state of Thuringia. Two of them were seriously injured. The police have ‘yet to find out’ exactly what happened, but it is already established that it is based on xenophobia. The attack took place around 3: 00 a.m. in Erfurt, according to the regional broadcasting company MDR at the door of ‘an object known to the police from the right scene in the south of the city’. Ten to twelve persons attacked the three Africans verbally as they passed by. A little later, the foreigners were also physically attacked. One of them was slightly injured, the other two badly injured. One is in critical condition, the police declared. Officers arrested 12 people, but they were released tonight. According to the state’s Attorney’s office, there were no grounds to detain them. Based on the initial results, the police assume a xenophobic motive. Whether weapons or other objects were used during the attack is still unclear.
