Speaking to a CNN Brasil journalist on Wednesday, he stated that he will not assume the leadership role, but will advise his party on conducting opposition to president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva. Bolsonaro made the statements at an airport in Florida before boarding a flight to Brazil. He returns to his country for the first time after his defeat in the October elections, which he lost to Lula. The former president said on Wednesday that he plans to travel a lot around Brazil, in order to help his party in the local elections next year. Earlier, Bolsonaro announced that he was returning to Brazil precisely to lead the opposition there. The right-wing politician also hinted at a possible participation in the next elections.
