Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Share on Google+ The US government is investigating possible links between Google and the Chinese government. American President Donald Trump announced this on Tuesday. “Billionaire Peter Thiel believes that Google should be investigated for treason. He accuses Google of working with the Chinese government. He is a brilliant guy who knows this subject better than anyone,” Trump said on Twitter. The American-born American Thiel is best known as a co-founder of the PayPal payment service. The Trump supporter pointed out in a speech in Washington on Sunday that Google had a contract with the US government terminated, while the technology giant is working closely with China on ways to get its search engine back up in the Asian country. The well-known tech entrepreneur also said that the artificial intelligence technology that Google is working on is potentially a “military weapon”. He then insisted that the FBI or the CIA examine whether Google was infiltrated by foreign intelligence services. Google said it would not cooperate with defense in China, but did not want to respond further. The meeting where Thiel gave his speech was attended by many Trump fans. Thiel’s support provided Trump with some form of credit in his election campaign in 2016 in Silicon Valley, where many of the major tech companies are located.
