The Robert Koch Institute (RKI) reported 12,690 new infections. In addition, 336 people died from the effects of Covid-19. The RKI reported almost 23,000 new infections and 553 deceased on January 1. There were already less than 30 000 infections by 31 December. On that day the RKI recorded 964 dead and a day earlier more than a thousand dead. The difference may be somewhat related to the data lag. A total of 33,960 people died in Germany from the effects of the lung virus. Over 1.7 million coronary events have been recorded.
