Kevzara wasn’t able to show reliable positive results against COVID-19

1 min read

The French pharmaceutical company Sanofi and partner Regenon Pharmaceuticals have stopped testing a treatment Against Rheumatism as a possible medicine against Covid-19. The results in a patient test were disappointing. Earlier, Sanofi CEO Paul Hudson said that the drug test offered Kevzara a small chance of a breakthrough.

In patients in critical condition, there was a trend towards a lower mortality rate. However, there was no such trend in patients whose situation was described as serious. There was also no significantly shorter hospital stay in patients receiving Kevzara. The drug was tested on 420 patients.

Sanofi and Regenon belonged to a large group of pharmaceuticals that tested existing medicines for use at corona.
