The men would have broadcast the images live. South Korean police say the men are suspected of placing hidden cameras in 42 motel rooms. The images of the rooms were shown on a live stream on a website. With this site, the men earned 7 million wons in three months (about $6,400). The cameras were hidden in various places, including television cabinets and sockets. According to police, as much as sixteen hundred unsuspecting motel guests were filmed during their stay. In the last few years, there has been a sharp increase in the number of incidents in which South Korea filmed people illegally. According to the authorities, this is due to the increased number of mobile devices connected to the internet.
