The FIA World Motor Sport Council approved the change on Friday at a meeting in Paris. Last year Formula E raced in the streets of Zurich – the first car race in Switzerland since 64 years – but next season the ePrix would clash with a number of local events in June 2019. That is why Bern takes over the organization of the race. The Bern ePrix is planned for June 22, 2019. The Formula E may return to Zurich a year later. The Formula E season 2018/2019, in which the new Gen2 car is introduced and the car changes are history, starts on 15 December in Saudi Arabia.
